A female president for Costa Rica
Female candidate from the leftist ruling National Liberation Party Laura Chinchilla Miranda, is set to become the first woman president of Costa Rica.
Chinchilla has received the 48.66 % of the votes. Her rival conservative Otto Guevara has already acknowledged defeat by getting the 22.46 % of the votes and her closest contender left-centrist Otton Solis has got more than 21 % of the votes.
