FAAE: Azerbaijan looks for a war
“Analyzing the refusal and rapid departure of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliev form the Economic Forum in St. Petersburg and the provocating attack on Artsakh which followed his departure the presidency of the FAAE clearly realizes the message of Azerbaijan directed to international community,” Forum of Armenian Association of Europe statement reads.
According to the chairman of FAAE Ashot Grigoryan, Aliev’s message meant that Azerbaijan refuses the ideas that are presented in Madrid principles, that is to say “connecting the affirmation of Artsakh’s independence through Referendum with the return of the liberated territories by Armenia.”
“Thus Azerbaijan directly hints at giving a military solution to the issue. That is to say statement of Azerbaijan as if staying faithful to Madrid principles was just a game which was aimed at exchanging the recognition of the Artsakh’s independence with the self-determination of Artsakh within Azerbaijan’s territory. This was obviously ceased by the Russian chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group.”
FAAE chairmen address to all the European and Armenian organizations all over the world as well as private lobbyists suggesting to get in touch with the foreign ministries and the parliaments of their countries presenting the adventurism of the Azerbaijani president, in the same time pointing at the dangerous situation in the South Caucasus and the its regions, as well as the consequences that come out of it. The sharpest attitude will be shown by the largest international companies which have made large investments in the region.
The adventurism could be followed by a war, which will turn into a catastrophe for both the companies which have made investment and all the countries of the region. Such war can’t be local, the CSTO and NATO forces will interfere and the consequences will not be foreseen,” the authors of the message state.
The heads of the FAAE thinks that the European countries, the international organizations are ought to show their attitude today to prevent the upcoming disaster.
The leadership of FAAE addresses to the Armenian Foreign Ministry too and encourages to work more actively over the occurred events and alarm the international community and present the upcoming reality in more comprehendible way.
