A skirt belonging to the 4th millennium found
During the excavations in Areni a lot of materials have been discovered that will give an information about craftsmanship, as in the caves were found well preserved, said today archaeologist Boris Gasparyan during a meeting with reporters.
The speaker mentioned that the fabrics are made of reed, sometimes it is of flax.
According to him, a part of clothing has been discovered, possibly, a reed-skirt and on the fabrics are noticeable samples of modern carpet designs. Using various parts of a reed, people have decorated their fabrics. The skirt dates from the 4th millennium B.C.
"We have very little idea about the dressing of people of that time on; there are no descriptions,” mentioned the director of the Archeology and Ethnography Institute Pavel Avetisyan.
