S. Sargsyan: Armenian language must predominate in our families
"It is the sixth year Armenia officially celebrates Mother Language Day, which is another occasion to address the issues of preservation and development of our language,” President Serzh Sargsyan said in a congratulatory message on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day.
“Every country is strong with its roots, language, faith and culture, which are the real standard-bearers of the nation's history, identity and dignity,” President said.
According to the President, the role of language is of vital importance, a guarantee for a nation's survival, anchor of its vitality and shield of its identity.
“To move away from the Armenian language means to move away from the roots of the Armenian people and to become an outcast deprived of one's homeland,” President stressed.
“Today we remind ourselves that the Armenian language and Armenian education must predominate in our families,” the President said calling on to glorify, keep and develop the Armenian language and to be worthy of prominent Armenians.
