RA President attends EurAsEC interstate Council
Today President of the Armenian Republic Serzh Sargsyan left for Moscow and participate at the interstate Council of the EurAsEC.
As the Aysor.am correspondent reports besides the Armenian President the presidents of Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kirgizstan attended the session. The newly appointed President of Kirgizstan, Almaz Atambaev attends such meeting for the first time.
A series of issues concerning the improvement of the EurAsEC activities have been included in the agenda of the meeting. A series of documents have been signed based on the results of the meeting.
Armenia owns an observer’s status at EurAsEC. The full members of the organization are Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan. Three of the members – Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Russia – have established the customs union on which will be based the Eurasian Economic Union in 2015.
