Poghosyan: Armenian delegation acted properly at NATO PA seminar in Baku
The Armenian delegation members participating in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 86th seminar Rose Roth seminar ‘The South Caucasus: Challenges and Opportunities” in Baku learned from the mass media about the protest staged in connection with their visit, the delegation member, secretary of Heritage faction Tevan Poghosyan said in a phone conversation with Life.panorama.
“We learned later that we were met by a protest. The seminar started well, but after the welcoming speech they began their ‘old song’ about 20% ‘occupied territories’ and so on. On the whole, nothing new was said, the standard goals of Azerbaijani PR were being solved,” Tevan Poghosyan noted.
In his words, the Armenian delegation gave appropriate answers to all the accusations, false and distorted information voiced by Azerbaijanis.
“We said that if you want to solve the problem, Nagorno Karabakh should be involved in the negotiating process and snipers should be withdrawn from the frontline,” Tevan Poghosyan said.
According to him, the situation is calm.
The Armenian delegation will return to Yerevan on June 19.
