Babayan: Artsakh’s participation in talks needed for concrete results
Highest-level meetings on the Karabakh problem enable to keep peace and stability and settle the problem through negotiations, the spokesman for the president of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic David Babayan told the correspondent of Aysor.am.
Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, will hold talks in Paris today at the initiative of French President Francois Hollande.
“Yet an efficient format of negotiations should be restored for a final resolution. Our fate should not be decided without official Stepanakert’s participation in the process. Secondly, Azerbaijan needs to reconsider its approach. Unfortunately we don’t see any changes. The same fascist rhetoric, glorification of criminals, and escalation of the situation ahead of meetings. All this does not give us reason to expect a turning point in the situation,” Babayan said, stressing the need to do everything to keep peace and solve the problem through negotiations.
“It is the utmost the OSCE Minsk Group can do. It is huge work. But Artsakh’s participation in negotiations is needed for concrete results,” the NKR president’s spokesman said.
