Defense Ministry informs foreign diplomats of downed helicopter events
First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia David Tonoyan received today foreign diplomats and military attaches accredited to Armenia, Defense Ministry said. At the meeting D. Tonoyan presented details of the special operation to recover the bodies of the pilots of Karabakh’s Mi-24 helicopter downed by Azerbaijan, as well as irrefutable proof of the operation.
D. Tonoyan expressed regret about the obstacles that Azerbaijan creates to hinder mediatory actions of the international community. It did not allow breaking the deadlock over the downed helicopter in accordance with norms of international humanitarian law, the deputy minister said.
According to Tonoyan, misinformation spread by Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and the denial of the special operation carried out by the Armenian side are a striking example of flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
David Tonoyan also sent relevant information to the head of the ICRC Mission in Armenia.
