Armenian MFA: Baku’s reaction shows total lack of facts
The reaction of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to the speech that Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan made at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute shows the total lack of facts of Azerbaijani side, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan said.
Edward Nalbandyan delivered a speech on Armenia’s foreign policy at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute on November 25. When speaking about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, Minister Nalbandyan said Armenia shares the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries’ approach that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution to the problem.
“Not only does Baku ignore the appeals of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries and the international community about nonuse of force, strengthening the ceasefire and the creation of mechanisms for investigation of incidents on the Line of Contact and implementation of trust building measures, but it also does the opposite thing bearing all responsibility for escalation of the situation.
These facts show that Azerbaijan has become a real danger to security and stability in the South Caucasus.
We share the OSCE Minsk Group’s opinion that the use of military force cannot contribute to the problem’s solution. The sooner Azerbaijani leadership understands it, the more rapidly the negotiations will produce results for resolution of the Karabakh problem,” E. Nalbandyan said in particular.
