Ashot Manucharyan: Armenia joins EEU on Unites States’ demand
“Any country loses its sovereignty when alien values take root in it, while its authorities serve external forces and carry out their instructions,” the public and political figure, member of ‘Karabakh’ Committee Ashot Manucharyan said at a press conference today when discussing Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
“90% of Armenia’s political elite serve the interests of the U.S., 10% serve Russia’s interests. They easily become a plaything of some political force or other, and these forces are America and Russia. Europe today cannot find itself. We are unable to establish relations with any other country because of these two states,” Ashot Manucharyan said.
Asked how in this case Armenia took a decision to join the Eurasian Economic Union, Manucharyan expressed an opinion that Armenia is joining EEU on the United States’ demand.
According to him, in reality the U.S. is not opposed to Armenia’s entry into EEU because attempts to prevent that process would result to Russia’s response and the collapse of the ‘American pyramid’.
“The U.S. does not want the pyramid to collapse, that’s why they allowed Armenia to sign the Agreement to Accession to the EEU,” Manucharyan said.
