Uruguayan vice presidents visits Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims
Vice President of Uruguay, President of the Senate Danilo Astori visited Yerevan’s Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. He was accompanied by Sukias Avetisyan, chairman of Armenia-Uruguay friendship group of the National Assembly, according to the press service of the Armenian parliament.
Danilo Astori laid a wreath at the Monument to the Genocide Victims. At the Eternal Flame, he observed a minute of silence in memory of the innocent victims.
Sharing his impressions, he said that he is greatly impressed by how deeply Armenia reveres the memory of the Genocide victims.
“Armenia may rest assured that a friendly country – the Eastern Republic of Uruguay supports it in the cause of the Armenian Genocide recognition and Uruguay is always ready to assist,” D. Astori stated.
He also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute and the temporary exposition on the history of the Genocide.
