Prime minister meets outgoing US ambassador
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the press office of the government said.
The prime minister thanked John Heffern for the work and active cooperation during his tenure and wished success in his future activities. He appreciated highly the ambassador’s personal contribution to the establishment of closer bilateral ties and the implementation of joint programs, thanks to which progress has been made in Armenia-U.S. relations. According to H. Abrahamyan, the U.S. is an important partner for our country and Armenia values the continued financial and technical assistance the U.S. government has provided to Armenia since its independence.
The ambassador thanked the prime minister for constructive cooperation. He considered the years of his tenure in Armenia effective and said he will remain a friend of Armenia and retain his ties with Armenia and the Armenians. John Heffern expressed confidence that Armenian-American links will continue developing dynamically, stressing that the U.S. is interested in deepening the relations with Armenia.
The interlocutors exchanged ideas about the expansion of bilateral cooperation, and the current programs.
