One of the paintings found
Vice-president of the Union of Artists Karapet Pashayan informed that one of the paintings considered to be stolen has been lying in the corner and has been found only today. The paining was made by Gagik Vardanyan.
«First it has been observed that the painting was missing, then it has been looked for and found», said the vice-president. He estimates, the total value of the stolen paintings makes 492 thousand drams.
On January 13 the head of painting hall of the Union of Artists Anahit Nazaryan found that paintings are all in a mess.
Later the police received a call and they were informed about robbery in the union.
«The police came, examined and took the lock away», said the vice-president of the union and added that for the first time in the Union of Artists in Armenia robbery has been registered.
The latter said that paintings of Grigor Aghasyan, Regina Ghazaryan, Serine Bejanyan, Suren Abrahamyan, David Petrosyan and Mkrtich Sedrakyan have been stolen.
