Armenian dram is over-evaluated

2009 started with negative balance of trade. Import exceeds export for 5 times, said NA former deputy, professor in economy Tatul Manaseryan.

Situation tends to get worse as the results of the yaer have not been summed statistically yet , however, according to the registered statistic data, 42% growth of import and 0,8% growth of export has been recorded. Manaseryan considers both insufficient and offered his personal approaches to overcome the present situation – growth of economic competition and encouragement of native production.

«However, such over-evaluation of national currency does not contribute to the process, moreover, when it is done in the foreground of international currency drop»,Tatul Manaseryan said.

As a result, prices increase, which directly beats social condition, he assured. Manaseryan noted that Armenian government has ground to say that today our external debt is comparatively little, however, it is not enough for borrowing new loans if we don't have any guarantees that they are not going to become burden for our generations.

«Armenia is a small country and its economy should be accountable»,he said.

Manaseryan attached importance to the fact that small and middle businesses are paid attention to referring to the visit of prime minister paid to Gold markets. However, Manaseryan is expecting the big business to be brought into tax field.
