Armenian Prime Minister receives World Bank delegation
Today Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan received World Bank delegation led by Deputy Chairman Shigeo Katsu, the department of public relations of Armenian Government reports.
The sides discussed cooperation with WB, possible assistance rendered to Armenia by World Bank for overcoming world financial and economic crisis, as well as cooperation of Armenia with other outstanding financial organizations and issues concerning current negotiations.
Prime Minister hoped that successful cooperation with WB as well as the Washington meetings and agreements with Bank chairmen attained last year will be progressive. The sides outlined that Armenia has always had high executive index and has always been presented as a reform model country.
As compared to other countries that have to spend huge sums to overcome consequences of crisis, Armenia managed to overcome the first wave of world financial and economic crisis.
Armenian Prime Minister informed WB delegation that Armenia is holding successful negotiations with other financial organizations – Asian Development Bank, EBRD, Black See Trade and Development Bank. He said that the country foresees to increase the amount expected to receive for providing loans to small and middle businesses. It will allow to manifest balanced approach in financing events in different areas.
