Azerbaijani people claim against Vladimir Jirinovski

On March 2 Vladimir Jirinovski will stand trial in Meshchansk Court in Moscow. The Azerbaijani Community has brought action against him for his book «Last hurl to the south», pravo.ru reports.

The plaintiffs think, some articles in Jirinovski's book defame Azerbaijani national-cultural self-determination.

Azerbaijani Community is exasperated by Jirinovski’s writing referring to the Azerbaijani people as Persian tribes who have been turkized under Ottoman Empire. In his book Vladimir Volfovich campares the Azerbaijani people with fascists having killed 50 million people.

Jirinovski’s attorneys announced that the court proceeding will impede further promotion of Azerbaijani-Russian relations.

Remind that the abovementioned book was published in 1993. It has been republished recently for having great demand.
