Aronyan takes over Anand
In the second tour of Linares Super Tournament Armenian grossmaster Levon Aronyan took over the world champion Vishwanathan Anand.
Online commenting on the game in chesspro.ru, Russian grossmaster Sergey Zagrebanlu said: «To some point Anand was in the lead and the game seemed to take the same course till the very end. But no. A single mistaken step and misfortune follows. As to Aronyan, for the recurrent time he proved to be a brilliant player. One may think him to be lucky but let me put it here, for his luck and happiness Levon owes to his own hands merely».
Grishchuk took over Van Yue and now leads the tournament list with Levon Aronyan. Carlsen – Dominguez, Racabov – Ivanchuk pairs ended in draw.
Carlsen, Dominguez and Ivanchuk now have 1 point. Racabov and Van Yue come at the end of the list with 0,5 points.
Today the third tour will be held. Aronyan will play with Racabov. The previous games of two players have mostly ended in draw.
Both seem not to be fond of taking risks, taking into consideration the current political situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and their fans’ attitude. The game seems to have recurrent end in draw.
