The French acquire Olympic broadcast rights
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced its agreement with Legardere media group member Sportfive for the Olympic broadcast rights for the XXII Olympic Winter Games (2014) in Sochi, Russia, and the
Games of the XXXI Olympiad (2016), dni.ru reports.
Note that the place where Summer Games are to be held has not been defined yet.
The IOC selected Sportfive on its capacity to market the Olympic broadcast rights.
Sportfive has acquired the rights across all media platforms, including free-to-air television, subscription television, internet and mobile phone, across 40 countries in Europe.
Legardere media group representative Leticia Fossorier refused to tell the agreement price. However, according to some views, it made about 1 milliard euros.
