Shaydulin says «South-Caucasus Railways» in unfavorable situation
«South-Caucasus Railways» CJSC general director Shevket Shaydulin evaluated the company’s situation satisfactory during his meeting with journalists and said though considered a giant road company in Armenia,
«South-Caucasus Railways» CJSC has apperaed to be in unfavorable conditions, taking into consideration the big competition.
Shaydulin mentioned, 29% of Armenian cargo shipment is conducted by rail, and more than 54% by road.
Shaydulin signified both the transportation facilities and the security of passengers and said all measures are being taken for provision of both.
«South-Caucasus Railways» CJSC director said the company faces problems with railway fund which is outdated and doesn't meet modern standards.
Despite about 200 specialists being trained at the moment, the company has a problem of specialists, Shaydulin said and hoped to have a well-trained group of specialists in the nearest future.
«From the point of view of investments, 2008 budget made 2 billion 340 million rubles and from the point of view of appropriation of sums it made about 1 billion rubles. For this year 2 billion 870 million rubles have been foreseen for investments and 1 billion 300 million rubles for appropriation of sums»,- Shaydulin said.
