Armenian-Turkish joint claim may succeed

Football Federations of Sweden and Norway announced that they will compete for the right to host «Euro-2016», AP agency reports. «We have good cooperation and have held joint Cups», Swedish Federation President Lars-Ake-Lagrell said.

The candidate cities and stadiums where Europe Cup may be held will be named later. Moreover, it has not been decided yet whether 16 or 24 teams are going to compete. Remind that, Europe Cup 1992 was held in Sweden, when for the 8 teams competing in the final 4 stadiums were needed.

Earlier it came to be known that France, Turkey, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Russia and Italy had also claimed for the right to host «Euro-2016». UEFA will make a final decision in May, 2010. However, as we can assume now, France is going to be given priority. Turkey may succeed if its claim be made along with Armenia. UEFA officials may not resist the temptation and will attempt to contribute to the promotion of dialogue between two countries.

The communication level of Armenian and Turkish Football Federations may provide possibility for joint organization of Europe Cup. Perhaps, the issue is worth consideration...
