Rada cut twice salaries to President and PM
The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has passed a resolution cutting twice the salary to the President Viktor Yushchenko and PM Yulia Timoshenko. This has been resolved taking into consideration the grave situation the country faces under the world economic crisis.
The resolution received 374 cons.
So, in accordance with the resolution, salaries of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Speaker, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Deputy Prime Ministers, Members of Parliament, National Security and Defense Council members, the Presidential Secretariat, the State Affairs Department, Verkhovna Rada machinery, the government’s secretariat, heads of other central bodies of executive power will be revised.
The salary cut will be temporary, by January 1, 2010, dni.ru reports.
