Two Armenians receive suspended sentence in Georgia
The chairman of Akhaltsikhe Armenian Youth Center Grigor Minasyan and the chairman of Charles Aznavour Charity Organization Sergey Hakobjanyan, detained on January 22, 2009 by the officials of Georgian Internal Affairs Ministry, have been released, A-Info reports.
The court made a verdict on one year suspended sentence yesterday. They were convicted of ruling illegal armed groupings (Article 223, Part 1, Georgian Criminal Code) and spying (Article 314, Part 1, Georgian Criminal Code). The defendants were released on terms of 2000-lari bail.
Armenian organizations in Georgia have expressed their content on release of the two Armenians.
