Capello hints Beckham may go to World Cup 2010
England manager Fabio Capello has suggested that David Beckham remains an integral member of the national squad in the build-up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
With the likes of Tottenham Hotspur's Aaron Lennon, Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips and Arsenal's Theo Walcott all potentially competing for a right-side of midfield spot, it seemed that the 33-year-old's chances of keeping a place in the Three Lions setup were limited.
However, the former Real Madrid and Juventus head coach has been extremely impressed with Beckham's form for Serie A club Milan.
«David is in very good form. He did not play until January and for that reason he is fresh,» Capello is quoted in Goal.com.
«He also played very well in the last game for AC Milan - he was their best player. His corners, free kicks and crosses are very important. He is still one of the best.»
