Aronian defeated Mamedyarov
FIDE Grand Prix tournament launched in Nalchik. Armenian GM Levon Aronian played with the Azerbaijani representative Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and defeated him after the first round. Currently Aronian leads the tournament. Alexander Grishchuk follows Aronian; he played with white figures and defeated Boris Gelfand. Another Armenian representative to the tournament Vladimir Hakopian received half point; his rival was Rustam Kasimdzhanov who presents Uzbekistan in the tournament.
