Vic Darchinyan plans to pound Agbeko, unify titles
WBA/WBC/IBF super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan plans to pound IBF bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko when the two clash on July 11. Like he did at super flyweight, Darchinyan wants to unify all of the major titles at bantamweight. After Darchinyan plans to move to super bantamweight.
«I want to unify the bantamweight division. I want to stay at bantamweight for 6-9 months and then unify the title. I will be even stronger at bantamweight. When I have been sparring at bantamweight I punch much stronger than a super flyweight. I don’t know much about Agbeko but he is a good fighter and a good puncher. He has beaten a few good fighters, like Luis Alberto Peres, and he lost to Vladimir Sidorenko, who I know and used to spar with. I will be ready for him,» Darchinyan said, boxingscene.com reported.
