Women's tennis team to commemorate Genocide victims
Women's Tennis Fed Cup has been underway in Malta since April 19. Armenian team has been included in Group 3 of Europe/Africa Group. After the three matches the team has celebrated three victories by now, winning against the teams from Moldova (3:0), Liechtenstein (2:1), Norway (3:0).
Today during the match against the Egyptian team, the Armenian tennis-players will be wearing mourning bands on hands, the press secretary of the Armenian Tennis Federation told Aysor. According to the report, the teams and fans may pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923 years, carried out by the Ottoman Turkey, by a minute of silence.
Tomorrow our team will have its last match against the Iceland team, in the frames of the Fed Cup. The team has by now shown brilliant results and great is the chance of winning the tournament and moving to Group 2.
