Armenia, OSCE cooperate in combating human trafficking
The First deputy chief of police of Armenia, major-general Armen Yeritsyan received the delegation chaired by Eva Biaudet, the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking on May 7, the Armenian police say.
A.Yeritsyan welcomed the guests and noted that the Armenian police actively cooperate with both the state authorities and a number of international organizations, including the OSCE office in Yerevan, the US Embassy to Armenia, International Organization for Migration, etc. in combating human trafficking.
By the assistance and financial support of the OSCE, a number of police officials attended international conferences and seminars.
Eva Biaudet noted that the OSCE is one of the focal international organizations that efficiently supports the efforts of the state organizations and NGOs to combat human trafficking in the region, including Armenia, and the meetings with the representatives of state institutions and civil society help enhance and promote the anti-trafficking cooperation with the OSCE.
