Armenian group «Art Voices» granted Eurofest Grand Prix
The Armenian jazz-man Armen Tutunjyan, known as Chico, told journalists today that attracted by the Eurovision song contest turmoil, none seems to be aware that the Armenians took prizes in a contest of a «higher level.»
«Eurofest music event, to represent classical, pop and jazz music, was due in Bucharest. The Armenian group «Art Voices» was granted Grand Prix,» he said.
Chiko said, unfortunately, the large-scale events of the kind are shed light on by two people in Armenia, Armen Manoukyan and himself, and «for a limited audience.»
«Pop is everywhere, mass taste seems to have taken power, hence, many are unaware of such events. Even the Composers’ Union seems to be indifferent,» A. Tutunjyan said.
