Minister of Sports welcomes AIBA Junior Championship participants

Armenian Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Armen Grigoryan addressed a welcome message to AIBA World Junior Championship participants, due in Yerevan May 23-30, the ministry says.

«My heartfelt greetings to all the participants of the AIBA World Junior Championships Yerevan 2009, to be held in the ancient land of Armenia!

Dear boxing juniors, you have gained the opportunity of getting to know many representatives of boxing schools of different countries at an early age. This will make your path to high-level sport considerably easier and will enrich the series of your technical skills. The Yerevan ring will increase your competing experience and will lay the base of your own boxing style.

Boxing is a strong man’s art. After exchanging punches in the ring, the athletes, despite the result of the contest, leave the ring with a warm handshake. This is one of the exemplary rules of this sport.
