Public Internal Financial Control in EU and Armenia

Armenia Marriott Hotel hosted the seminar on «Public Internal Financial Control (PIFC) in the European Union and Armenia» today.

This seminar was attended by Minister of Finance of Armenia Mr. T. Davtyan, Ambassador, Head of the EC Delegation to Armenia Mr. Raul de Luzenberger, central government top officials.

The seminar participants focused on PIFC as a new mechanism for internal control approach in Armenia. the European Commission officials and invited experts presented EU MS expertise in state internal financial control and suggestions were made for further improvement of state internal financial control system.

Commenting on the event, Mr Robert Gielisse, Head of PIFC Department in the European Commission in Brussels, stated, that this was an important awareness-raising event and they support and encourage the planned reforms in Armenia.

Armenian Finance Ministry representative Karen Davtyan said the model has been worked out by the European Commission and it missions at ensuring the efficiency of the state financial management and providing high-quality services for the public. The event is held in the frames of Armenia-EU action plan.
