United linked to 22m Roma striker Vucinic in hunt for new Ronaldo
Manchester United are “linked to £22million” Mirko Vucinic at Serie A side Roma as the Premier League champions “hunt” for the “new Cristiano Ronaldo”, according to Football Transfer Tavern.
The paper claims that the Giallorossi player “has been touted” as a “replacement” for the Bernabeu bound Ronaldo at the Red Devils.
It said that “financial fears” at the Stadio Olimpico “would force” Roma to “consider serious bids” for Montenegro International Vucinic and that offers in the region of “£22million” would be “too good” for the Serie A side to reject.
25-year-old Vucinic is claimed to “appear” on a list of “targets” put together by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, according to Italian paper Corriere dello Sport. However, Sportsmail “understands” that Franck Ribery, Antonio Valencia and Karim Benzema remain United’s “prime targets”.
