Talks over Ribery's move to Real progressing well, Zidane says
Franck Ribery's move from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid is moving closer to a reality, Zinedine Zidane was quoted as saying on Thursday, Reuters said.
Asked about the talks over the French international, Zidane, who is special adviser to Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez, told French daily Le Parisien: "They are progressing well. "People meet to discuss the matter... I am doing all I can to get this move done. That is what I wish and that is what the club's chairman wishes as well," the former France and Real midfielder added.
Real Madrid have already signed Brazilian Kaka from AC Milan and Manchester United have accepted a world record 80 million pound ($131.2 million) bid from the Spanish club for Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to media reports, Bayern Munich have turned down a 55 million euro ($76.76 million) offer from Real Madrid for Ribery.
"The FC Bayern Munich board of directors has unanimously resolved not to offer the player Franck Ribery for sale," the German club said in a statement published on their website (www.fcbayern.t-com.de) on Wednesday.
