NKR President says Azerbaijan's statements incongruous
Following the meeting with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis Thursday, the President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan had a briefing with journalists. He referred to the upcoming July meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev to be held in Moscow.
“We have expectations from all the meetings and not exception is this meeting as well,” NKR President said. He noted that the Armenian party hopes Azerbaijan will sooner or later withdraw its current policy and will come to be more constructive.
“This is what we expect from any meeting,” B. Sahakyan highlighted.
Referring to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister E. Mammadyarov’s statement over the only way for the regulation of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for the official Baku being the granting of sovereignty to Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, Bako Sahakyan said that no constructive dispositions can be expected in case of similar statements.
“This contradicts to the foreign policy of our state and we don’t say NO to it but we consider such statements to be incongruous,” NKR President Bako Sahakyan said.
