Two swine flu cases confirmed in 2009 Summer Universade, Serbia
Two swine flu cases have been confirmed in the 2009 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXV Summer Universiade held in Belgrade, Serbia July 1-12, 2009. Serbian Health Ministry announced the cases have been found by representatives from Uganda and Argentina. A/H1N1 was confirmed also by an Australian swimmer.
Reacting to Aysor.am material published yesterday, the press secretary of the Armenian Health Ministry Ruslana Gevorgyan said our material has been presented to the corresponding bodies dealing with the problem. The deputy minister has also been informed about the ongoing situation in Belgrade. The ministry workers established quick contact with the Armenian sports delegation in Serbia. According to the information provided, the Armenian sportsmen have no health problems. Armenian taekwondo sportsman Arman Yeremyan competed against the Argentinean sportsman yesterday, but he is completely healthy. According to the ministry press secretary, all the Armenian delegation members will undergo medical.
All the sportsman having had any contact with those infected have been isolated. 850 coaches and sportsmen are participating in the championship. This is the 21st swine flu case confirmed in Serbia since the beginning of July.
