Levon Aronyan among the leaders
The last two games of the second part of FIDE “Grand Prix” fifth tournament, taking place in Jermuk, finished in draw. Peter Leko, who won in the first part, had advantages in positions though could not make use of his position and win Pavel Elyanov.
The same situation was recorded in the game between Inarkin and Ivanchuk, where the chess player with white figures had better chances to win.
Taking that opportunity Levon Aronyan, who had won in the second part, got equal scores with the leaders. Now Ivan Cheparinov, Levon Aronyan and Peter Leko share 1-3 positions with 1.5 points. Vasili Ivanchuk, Rustan Kasimzhanov, Boris Gelfand, Pavel Elyanov, Sergei Karyakin, Etyen Bakro, Dmitri Yakovenko and Vladimir Hakobyan each got one point. The list of the series of competition ends with Ernesto Inarkiev, Yevgeni Aleqseev and Gata
Kamski each having half point.
