Arkadi Andreasyan is 62

Arkadi Andreasyan, the vice-president of the Yerevan club “Ararat”, today celebrates his 62nd anniversary. Famous Armenian football player was born on August 11th, 1947. In 1973 he became a champion of USSR and gained a cup as a member of “Ararat”. In 1976 he was the best bombardier in USSR spring championship, and a bronze winner at Olympics in Munich. He is included in the symbolic team of the 20th century.

Arkadi Andreasyan goes on living along football. Recently his relations with the authorities of Armenian Football Federation have been rather strained, but they managed to settle everything down and would combine their efforts for developing Armenian football, as well as for overcoming some difficulties of “Ararat”.

Arkadi Andreasyan is one of the legends of Armenian football. While speaking about victories of Ararat, his incomparable game, the quality of playmaker and bombardier could not but be mentioned. The game, where he defeated Franz Bekenbauer and hit a head goal during the final quarter of “Bavaria” Champions Cup.

The best years of our football history are in the past. But we want to believe that the football career of Arkadi Andreasyan is not in the past, that he will do his best to forward Armenian football to make one great flight in our football.
