Vladimir Margaryan defeated Azerbaijani Abdulaeev
The Armenian team is participating in the Youth European Boxing Championship taking place in Szczecin, Poland. Derenik Gabrielyan, the vice president of the Armenian Boxing Federation, informed the reporter of Aysor.am that the Armenian delegation consists of eight sportsmen: Karen Ayvazyan (up to 51 kg weigh category), Aleksan Shahyan (54 kg), Aram Avagyan (57 kg), Vladimir Margaryan (64 kg), Harutyun Abrahamyan (69 kg), Gor Aristakesyan (75 kg), Azat Davtyan (91 kg), and Havhannes Ohanyan (91kg and more).
Aleksan Shahyan lost the first fight to the representative of Azerbaijan Elvin Isaeev. Aram Avagyan managed to win the first game with Lithuanian Jonas Kazakauskas. Next round is with Roumanian Marian Dragos.
Vladimir Margaryan fights in the 64 weight category. First he defeated French David Papotay, and then won Azerbaijani Tamerlan Abdulaev with the score 8:1. Due to this victory Vladimir appeared in the 1/4 finals. Here he fights with the representative of Germany, our compatriot Arayik Marutyan.
Karen Ayvazyan, fighting in the 51 weight category, started in the 1/8 finals and in the first phase defeated the representative of Italy Alessandro Kubedu. In the 1/4 finals the rival of an Armenian sportsman is a Moldavian Igor Osipov.
Gor Aristakesyan (75 kg ) also managed to fight but he failed in the championship. The privileges of the Ukrainian Voltalyuk were evident and he is to go on fighting for the status of a champion.
