Aleksan Avetisyan “Azerbaijan has got security guarantees”

The Azerbaijani Media in the last period are actively discussing the issue concerning the judo youth team’s arrival to Yerevan and the participation on the European championship. Some organization stand against the participation and the sport authorities announce that they have not got security guarantees from Armenia and that is the reason why they have not made any decision yet. They also add that they will make a final decision after receiving information about those guarantees as well as the food, and hotel conditions.

Today in the press conference taken place in the RA Ministry of Sports and Youth affair, touching upon the mentioned issue the president of RA Judo Federation Aleqsan Avetisyan stressed that the Azerbaijani Federation has already affirmed the delegation of 14 people in which are included the leader of the delegation, one judge, 4 trainers and 8 sportsmen.

“Armenia has given security guaranties and there is no need to worry. By the way such guarantees have been given not only to Azerbaijan. Israel too demands such guarantees. As you know after the events that took place in 1972 during the Olympics in Munich the Israeli team is including in its delegation security men. Turkish delegation too has got such guarantees .

I would like to stress that the security of all teams will be provided. I repeat again that Azerbaijan has got security guarantees and has already decided to send the list of the delegation. Of course it has no applications were made for hotel. Besides that we are not informed about the flight they are arriving with to Yerevan. I hope the Azerbaijani will make a concrete decision in that issue too till the August 31. By the way the upcoming youth championship is of a great interest in Azerbaijan. The President of that country, Ilham Aliev who is leading also the National Olympic committee has ordered to get ready for the Yerevan first match seriously and to visit Armenia with a stronger team they have realized serious preparation works and have participated in several tournaments, and military campings”, - announced Aleksan Avetisyan.
