Armenian young judoists train seriously
The Armenian Youth Judo Team is seriously getting ready for the European Championship taking place in Yerevan on September 11-13. Our team of judoists up to 20 years old has just returned from the series of competitions in Prague and Berlin.
“As we know there was a great international competition in Prague, where the Armenian Youth Judo Team also participated”,- said Aleksan Avetisyan, the President of Armenian Judo Federation, in today’s press conference.
“David Mkrtchyan became champion in the w/c 55 kg. Grigor Ivanyan took the third place in the same w/c. In that competition Artyom Baghdasaryan (73 kg) and Tigran Varosyan (60 kg) shared the second place. Then four-day trainings were held with the teams not having left the Czech Republic.
Later our team left for Berlin. Grigor Ivanyan (w/c 55 kg) took the second place in that competition; the same result registered Artyom Baghdasaryan from Gyumri. And Tigran Varosyan took the third place. Our team was not complete in Berlin, but the recorded results evidence that we can have better achievements in Yerevan”.
