Levon Aronyan took the place of the winner prematurely
The Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronyan took a victory over Aleksey Shirov in the 5th round of the “Grand Slam” Masters Final in Bilbao, Spain and getting 12 points prematurely took the place of the winner. In the next round Alexander Grishchuk ended in draw in the game with Sergey Karyakin and lost his last chance for fighting for the first place.
So the leader of the tournament list is Levon Aronyan. Alexander Grishchuk that follows him has received 7 points. Sergey Karyakin affirmed in third position with 6 points.
Levon as usual is plays and allows his rivals to play too. Most of the experts stress the fact that not all his games are being without mistakes, but it is important that at the end it is not the Armenian chess player who makes a mistake, but his rival. The success naturally is with the strong ones… The Armenian Grandmaster creates indeed, and all the chess players enjoy his game.
Today, in the last round, Levon Aronyan will compete with Sergey Karyakin with blacks, and Shirov with Alexander Grishchuk.
