Agayar Akhundzade: conditions were totally implemented

Judo European Youth Championship is over. Undoubtedly, the main intrigue of Champ was participation of Azerbaijan’s national team. All Azerbailani media closely monitored the doings. Nonetheless better than any journalist the participants themselves can tell about high level of competition.

Azerbaijan’s national team Coach, Agayar Akhundzade having returned back to Baku, shared his impressions.

“I’d like to mark that all conditions in agreement concerning the arrival of Azerbaijani national team were totally implemented. We even could freely walk around the city. On the very first day of arrival the organizers provided a gym, anв the same for the following days."

"The receiving side even had planned an excursion for us, but our athletes were totally focused on preparing for Champ. That is why we decided not to be distracted. Moreover at the Championships Opening Ceremony Azerbaijan’s flag was carried by son of Aleksan Avetisyan, the President of Armenian Judo Federation.”

Indeed, the sport must always stay beyond politics. And audience's applause to the winners from Azerbaijan and welcoming on feet Azerbaijan’s flag – this testifies to high level of Armenians who respect athletic achievement of any athlete, regardless of his nationality.

One can only look forward for the same benevolent towards the Armenian sportsmen in Baku.
