In the report Armenia is presented with 2 stories
“I haven’t examined whether they really avoided the paying the taxes or not, or what kind of violations of law they have made, my main problem is to examine what happens when any company takes up steps which are against the will of the authorities, then the persecutions start”, - said Varuzhan Hogtanyan, the executive director of Armenian branch of the “Transparency International” anticorruption organization.
“Transparency International” anticorruption organization has recently announced the report of 2009 the subject of which was “The corruption and the Private sector”. In this report in the number of 45 states is presented also Armenia.
“It is one of the world’s studies of anticorruption movements, which is more analytic; there are no comparisons and numbers. Each country presents the situation that exists in his country according to the subject chosen for that year”, - explained Amalia Kostanyan the president of the Armenian office of “Transparency International”.
The report consists of three main parts. The first part comprises articles concerning the given subject, investigations. In the second part are the national reports which are being done on voluntary basis by the countries which want to. It comprises stories that took place in the mentioned country. The third one comprises the academic studies that refer the subject. It includes the investigations of the “Transparency International” and the investigations that the organization finds interesting but which can be not connected with the subject of that year.
V. Hogtanyan informed that this report includes the events that took place since June 1, 2007 up to May 31, 2008. He mentioned that Armenia has presented two stories the trails of “Royal Armenia” Company and “Gala” TV channel.
By the words of the executive director of the organization in his report he has stressed the case how the company can make violations without problems until it goes against the policy of the authorities.
