Weight of export cargo is 40% down

“The weight of South Caucasus Railways Company’s cargo of this year’s last 8 months was 1 million and 776 thousand tones which in comparison with last indexes difference in 10-15 tones. Unfortunately weight of export cargo is 40% down and weight of import cargo is 5% down. Thus, we keep the same index of cargo at the expense of internal traffic,” said at today’s press-conference SCR’s first deputy director Marat Khakov.

He also announced that there were no trains to Batumi any more while trains to Tbilisi were still on service.

Number of international traveling grew by 44%, and inland traveling – by 40%, said Marat Khakov, noting that number of passengers on Yerevan-Armavir route increased by influx of students.

“Increase of passengers dues to direction of Sevan, Shorzhi; however the expected index was not reached because of bad weather in summer.”
