Mika is Euro Cup Vice-Champion
Euro Cup’2009 in Macedonia’s Ohrid is over.
In last round Armenian men's team really should have won to prize. And they did it. Fight against on-site Macedonian team of Alkaloid was intense. Levon Aronyan unfortunately lost to Shahriyar Mammadyarov. Anyway, other sets performed Mika’s 4:2 victory. Vladimir Akopyan defeated Gata Kamsky, Arman Pashikyan won over Huseynov, while Tigran Petrosyan defeated Nedev. Andriasyan-Mamedov and Sarkisian-Volokotin sets ended in a draw.
Through this victory Armenian Mika became Euro Cup Vice-Champion, seeded second with 12 points.
Russia’s Economist is a Champion with 14 points. And Ural seeded third with 11 points.
Mika’s women team lost 1.5-2.5 to Saratov. Even though Elina Danielyan won over Anna Muzychuk , this victory had no effect on further results, Our women’s team seeded ninth.
