Minasyan: I completely trust my President
Head coach of Armenia’s national football team Vardan Minasyan at before-match press-conference shared his expectations for upcoming today’s game.
“I have no claims against Turkish side; they have provided good reception here in Bursa. I think the game will be played in nice atmosphere, and both teams will manage to show good game.”
Speaking about game’s political aspects the head coach said that he has no idea what the policy is about, however he completely trust President’s policy on developing relations with Turkey and signing Armenian-Turkish protocols.
When asked by a Turkish journalist whether he will accept a proposal of any Turkish football club to take the post of head coach, Vardan Minasyan said that never thought about such development in his career and expressed his surprise at Turkish head coach Fatih Terim’s retirement.
“Fatih Terim has done a lot for Turkish football, and I am really very sorry to see him go. Anyway, this is a coach destiny: today you are this team’s coach, tomorrow – another’s. Sure, I didn’t even think that Turkey will fail to qualify for the 2010 World Cup, it’s a complete surprise,” he said.
