Fatih Terim’s farewell game
Fatih Terim quits as Turkey's coach which is his second resignation. Wednesday’s game against Armenia will mark Terim’s farewell game coming, it’s worth mentioning, just as a symbolic one as Turkey’s national team failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
President of Turkish Football Federation Mahmut Özgener has accepted Turkish national team coach Fatih Terim's resignation.
“We don't see this as a simple managerial change, we're planning a complete renovation,” said the TFF President.
“The manager who will serve as head coach during this renovation period will be someone who has the experience and quality to take Turkish football to success on international level and most importantly maintain consistent success.” said Özgener thanking the 56-year-old football coach for his service.
Turkey’s national team failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup after was defeated by Belgium 2-0 in a 2010 World Cup qualifying match at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Today the team will play against Armenian national team in Turkey’s Bursa, the last game of its failed campaign.
