WB Managing Director in Aragatsotn region of Armenia
Today in the frameworks of the regional visit Ms. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala the World Bank Managing Director, arrived to Armenia. The aim of her visit is to discuss with the respective governments, development partners and civil society the impact of the financial crisis in the South Caucasus and to find ways to help ease the crisis and enable sustainable economic growth.
In Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan Ms. Okonjo-Iweala will meet with the country leadership, senior government officials, civil society and private sector representatives, and visit World Bank supported project sites.
For this very reason at this moment Ms. Okonjo-Iweala is in the Aragatsotn region.
As the Aysor.am journalist was told by Vigen Sargsyan the head of the public relations of the WB Yerevan office, the Managing Director is getting acquainted with the reconstruction and construction in the Yernjatap village financed by the bank. The next stop will be in Vardenut and Ara villages which in the frameworks of the program of improving the village roads. Then they will for Aghdzq region. After which they will leave for Voskevan and will visit to “Ashtarak egg” enterprise where the technologies are renovated and new workplaces have been opened.
