63 political prisoners in Azerbaijan

In occasion of the International Day of political prisoners marked world-wide on October 30, organizations protecting human rights in Azerbaijan issued lists of political prisoners. And there are some differences in these reports.

Thus, Human Rights Monitoring Group reported 27 political prisoners while Federation for Human Rights says its number is 66. Of only 17 people’s names jump together. Two of these seventeen are already freed Musavat Party’s members Mehdi Huseinly and Sakit Zakhidov (Mirza Sakit). Novruzali Mamedov died in prison on August 17. In this way, given all mentioned just 15 people jump together in lists of political prisoners issued by Azerbaijani Human Rights Monitoring Group and Federation for Human Rights.

Musavat.com reports that these two organizations cannot consolidate their lists and declare it to international organizations because the Monitoring Group demands from Federation for Human Rights to delete names of Lezgins-members of Sadval.
