Armenian men’s team is 4-9th seeded

In round five of the 17th Team Chess Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia, Armenian men’s team played a draw with France and lost a point.

Unfortunately, Levon Aronyan lost to Etienne Bacrot while Gabriel Sargsyan improved the situation: he won over Edward Romaine and reestablished the balance. Vladimir Hakopyan- Loren Fresinet set ended in draw as well as Tigran Petrosyan-Sebastien Fyoller set.

Thus, after the fifth round Armenian men’s team seeded 4-9 with 7 points alongside with teams of Hungary, France, Spain, Holland, Ukraine, and Serbia. Russian and Georgian teams seeded 2-3 with 8 points, and Azerbaijan’s team is top-seeded with a 100-percent advantage and 10 points in a portfolio.

Today, in round six, Armenian team will play against Spain’s team; Azerbaijan will play against Russia, and Ukrainian team – against Georgian.
