Baku Office of Soros Foundation may likewise close
Rumors spread like wildfire in Azerbaijan after information disseminated that International Republican Institute (IRI) and International Fund for Electoral Systems (IFES) close their offices in Azerbaijani capital city of Baku.
Bizim Yol paper reports that Soros Foundation may likewise close its working in Azerbaijan caused of financial problems. Meanwhile, head of the Baku Office of Soros Foundation, Farda Asadov, keeps silence not commenting the situation.
Head of the Supervisory Board of Soros Foundation, a political scientist Zardusht Alizade said has no any information on matter. “2010 Program Plan was sent to New York and approved. We expect funding news in January, as usual,” he said adding that alongside with Farda Asadov is planning to pay a visit to U.S. on November 20-25 to participate in the meeting which is organized annually by Soros Foundation.
